Joseph started his commercial real estate career in 1986 after enjoying eight years as a major account team sales manager with the Xerox Corporation. After successfully completing five years as an industrial specialist with Grubb & Ellis (formerly Alder, Galvin & Rogers), Joseph co-founded CRESCO Real Estate in February of 1991.
Simon entered the real estate brokerage business in 1993 as a sales associate with CB Commercial Real Estate Group, a large international real estate firm based in Los Angeles, specializing in sales, leasing and build-to-suits of industrial properties. Simon moved to CRESCO in January 1998, as a Vice President. In February of 2001, Simon became a Principal of CRESCO, helping to create the largest and most successful industrial real estate brokerage in Northeast Ohio.
Eliot started in the commercial real estate industry in 2005. He has been a licensed agent since 2001. During his brief career with CRESCO Real Estate, Eliot has quickly compiled a history of deals and satisfied clients. Eliot earned the SIOR designation in December 2012.
Since 1996, George has been active in the industrial real estate brokerage business. In May 2003, George joined CRESCO Real Estate as a Senior Sales Associate, and was promoted to Vice-President in November, 2005 and Sr. Vice-President in October, 2010. George earned the CCIM designation in October, 2005 and the SIOR designation in August, 2009.
Paul started his commercial real estate career with CRESCO Real Estate in 2011 after spending the previous two (2) years with Keller Williams Realty. His experience in commercial and residential real estate has exposed him to various segments of the real estate industry including multi-family apartment buildings, investment properties, single-family sales and condo-townhome leasing. Paul graduated from John Carroll University in 2008 with a degree in Business Management.

1.) 350,000 SF leased at 2210 International Parkway
George J. Pofok, CCIM, SIOR represented a beverage distribution company in leasing 350,000 SF at 2210 International Parkway in Green, Ohio. The location is on the back side of the Akron-Canton Airport and within 5-7 minutes of the Shuffle Street exit on I-77. George teamed with Mike Jones of St. Onge Company on this assignment. St. Onge Company is a world recognized supply chain engineering and logistics consulting firm. Mike and his team evaluated the supply chain of the company and recommended consolidating four locations which were controlled by 3PLs into two company controlled locations. From company introduction to lease signing was less than 60 days.

2.) HEAT SEAL is the newest tenant at 4922 E. 49th Street Cuyahoga Hts.
CRESCO was enlisted by Heat Seal to assist in the search for a new home and headquarters for their company which specializes in the design, development and manufacturing of packaging and processing equipment for the food processing and industrial packaging industries. The requirement was for 85,000 +/- SF of very clean industrial space inclusive of office, engineering, showroom, testing, machine shop, fabrication, assembly, warehouse and shipping that was brightly lit and inclusive of 1200A of 480V electrical power, as well as many other manufacturing amenities. We required a manufacturing area in a square configuration that would enable the reorganizing of the production line, installation of new equipment, in a similar size space, in order to gain overall efficiency and be very nearby the current facility to retain employees. We identified 4922 E 49th St. early in the search, at the time it was under contract to be purchased by a local developer. The biggest issue was the significant amount of Landlord and Tenant improvements. After many months with the assistance of company management and the Landlord we were able to overcome many obstacles and work out a long term deal that included the right space built-out to Heat Seal’s specifications with room to grow that fit into their budget.

3.) MAGNA Seating of America secures deal at 3637 Mallard Run
Joseph V. Barna, SIOR represented Cedar Tree Properties, LLC in the leasing of 66,800 SF to Magna Seating of America, Inc., a global supplier to the automotive industry. The property is located within the French Creek Business Park. A major obstacle included completing $1,000,000+ of tenant improvements within a compressed time frame. The end result being Magna Seating of America, Inc. executing a 10 year lease and bringing 50+ new jobs to Sheffield Village.

4.) Essroc Sells Over 600 acres of land in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio
The Barna Caplan Team along with Cushman & Wakefield / Grant Street Associates in Pittsburgh and Cushman & Wakefield of San Diego were hired for the disposition of over 600 acres of former exhausted quarry land sites in rural Pennsylvania and Ohio By focusing on a team approach and assembling the appropriate skill sets within Cushman & Wakefield, we presented a comprehensive marketing plan and execution strategy to Essroc senior management. We launched a regional and national marketing campaign targeting the top aggregate companies and oil/natural gas companies in the country. After constructing the project website, we distributed detailed marketing materials and numerous phone calls were made to these companies to discuss the offering. After three (3) years of marketing, and assisting the buyers in every step of the real-estate transaction process including government financing, the Cushman & Wakefield team was able to secure one local investor, one regional aggregate company, and one national oil/natural gas entity as buyers. As a result all three sites closed at the start of 2016.

5.) FLUOR Corporation leases land for pipe yard storage
George J. Pofok, CCIM, SIOR along with Christopher Bosley from the Cushman & Wakefield - Irvine, CA office represented Fluor Corporation in leasing three (3) lay down pipe yards totaling 73 acres and includes 22,500 SF building to support the NEXUS Gas Transmission Pipeline Project. The NEXUS Pipeline project is the construction of a 256 mile 36” in diameter natural gas pipeline that will run from Kensington, Ohio in Columbia County traveling northwest through Toledo and Michigan to Willow Run, MI.

6.) AMBASSADORS Football Club purchases 17.45 acres in Macedonia
George J. Pofok, CCIM, SIOR represented the Ambassadors Football Club in the acquisition of 17.45 acres of land at the end of Highland Pointe Parkway in Macedonia, Ohio. Ambassadors FC is a non-profit evangelical soccer ministry that sponsors a premier youth soccer club in the greater Cleveland area. Phase I plans will consist of a 27,300 SF building that will contain a one-third regulation size soccer field. Phase II would include construction of an indoor full-sized regulation soccer field. From LOI to closing the transaction took seventeen (17) months as Ambassadors completed their due diligence including several meetings with neighboring residents who objected to the project. They were ultimately able to satisfy the requests from the City of Macedonia and received planning commission approval in February, 2016.

7.) FMI Medical Systems moves headquarters to 29001 Solon Road.
FMI Medical Systems leased 41,040 SF. The Barna Caplan Team lead by Simon Caplan, SIOR, was enlisted by FMI Medical Systems to assist in the search for a new home for their US Headquarters for the design & development of high tech CAT scan imaging systems from Akron to Chagrin Blvd. The requirement was for 32,000 +/- SF of air-conditioned space inclusive of office, engineering, computer lab, testing, assembly, machine shop, warehouse and shipping that was brightly lit and inclusive of 600 amps of 480 volt electrical power dedicated to designing and fabrication of a new generation of CAT scan / PET technology. It was difficult to identify space that came close to fitting their needs which did not require a completely new build-out. We identified 29001 Solon Road early in the search; however it was 15% larger than our requirement and needed both significant Landlord and Tenant improvements. After several months with the assistance of company management and the landlord we were able to overcome many obstacles and work out a long term transaction that included the appropriate build-out for FMI Medical Systems’ specifications with room to grow that fit into their budget.

8.) Developer Purchases 44 acres along Rockside Road
Rico Pietro, SIOR and Joseph V. Barna, SIOR of Cushman & Wakefield represented Fifth Third Bank in the disposition of this approximately 44 acre prime development site. The property was once approved for a high-end mixed use development which stalled due to a downturn in the economy. Fifth Third Bank then turned to Rico and Joe to reposition this offering in the market.

9.) Biynah Industrial Partners acquire new tenant at 2479 Edison in Twinsburg

10.) Millennia Companies acquires historic Garfield Building at 1965 E. 6th Street in Cleveland
As the Midwest Real Estate Market stabilizes and the demand for properties within an urban city core grows, Westcore Proprieties sold a historic, Class-C office building in downtown Cleveland for $6 million to Millennia Companies, an apartment developer and property manager. The 11-story, 160,000 SF Garfield Building – a historic masonry and steel-frame building – is located at 1965 E. Sixth Street, on the corner of Euclid Avenue and East Sixth Street, in downtown Cleveland. Originally built in 1893, the building is the former home to National City / PNC Bank. Westcore Properties purchased the property in 2008. Millennia Companies has plans to develop the building into multi-family rental housing. “We purchased this property in 2008 as part of a larger portfolio,” said Don Ankeny, President and CEO of Westcore Properties. “With the real estate rebound occurring in Midwest markets following the great recession, the timing was right for us to sell this site to a developer with plans to renovate the building into a premier housing structure in the downtown area.”

In June, 2016, George J. Pofok, CCIM, SIOR stepped down after fourteen (14) years of service on the Kamm’s Corners Development Corporation Board of Directors. This included
serving the last three (3) years as Board President. “It was an honor and a privilege to serve the residents of West Park and seeing all the changes and improvements over the years is
extremely gratifying,” said Pofok.
